Jack Kelly writer

I was educated at Columbia University and graduated with a
major in psychology. I traveled after college, settling in
Ireland where I studied Gaelic Irish and worked on a
government study of language revival.
Returning to the U.S., I became a business journalist, serving
as an editor for publications like the Gallagher Report and
the Executive's Personal Development Letter. I interviewed
numerous corporate CEOs and wrote executive reports on
topics ranging from marketing to finance to business strategy.
I became interested in creative writing and published five
novels and numerous short stories. My screenplay
Protection, an adaptation of my novel of the same name, was
made into a feature film starring Stephen Baldwin and Peter
Gallagher.
Following a long-standing interest in history, I became a
regular contributor to American Heritage Magazine, Invention
& Technology, and other publications I wrote a wide-ranging
technical and social history of gunpowder, for nine hundred
years man's only explosive.
I live in the Hudson Valley region of New York, a hundred
miles north of New York City. In my spare time I volunteer as
an EMT with the local rescue squad and work on issues of
environmental and historic conservation.

Ah lad, upon the road of life
Tis best to dance with Chance's wife
And let the rain that comes in time
Erase the footprints of the crime.
